Hi all
Some of you in the scrap world will know theres been a lot of hassle this week since a customer came to our store, downloaded items she hadn't paid for, sent us a note telling us about it and adding that she had downloaded anyway. In a misjudgement which she has repeatedly admitted and apologised for, my co-owner shared that customers IP and email address with our store designers. I then forwarded that info to some store owners/managers as an FYI and explained that the co-owner was checking into how it happened. The co-owner also forwarded the order just to our store designers. One of those designers, took it upon herself to forward the mail to someone else with the sole intention of causing trouble. At this point I hadn't registered who the customer was.
Like a lot of designers and PSPers, I started out on the wrong side of the tracks. I became involved with a woman calling herself Nemesis and joined her group, yes it was a pirate group as I'm sure most of you know and realise. I don't and wont deny it. I was wrong, in time I realised that. Took me a long time but I realised.
As it turned out, the customer who got her order for free, is also a friend and fellow groupie of Nemesis, I knew her through that group. So I knew there would be backlash as I know how these people work.
It seems to me though that this was all part of some kind of plan, to take their revenge on me, for having left their group. And by the 'insider designer' for having left a store she either co-owns or manages, depending which version of the story she decides to tell).
Nemesis' sharing group is like some kind of cult, they must follow the leader at all costs or be prepared to incur her wrath and 'punishments'. You don't leave unless they say you have to go. Its ok by them to be a designer, selling products, as long as you remain with them, but not if you leave, because you have a conscience, and know that its wrong to do both. Its even ok to own a massive pirating group and own your own store isn't it Nemesis...and Monna. I know most us would call that hypocritical, but its ok to them apparently.
I was informed, by Nemesis herself that Monna (the customer) told me to 'check the shipping options' on her order. Lo and behold, the only difference between her order and everyone elses, was the shipping options. Now, whether that was somehow manipulated by her, or a fault within the store, nobody can be certain. But she certainly knew how she'd got them for free.
Regardless, both myself and my co-owner, issued apologies and retractions. This woman was making threats of legal action regarding the spreading of her personal info. Even though the address and zip code she used dont even match, she complained that she was worried perverts may come and snatch her grandchildren!!! Note the address and zip code were only shared WITHIN OUR STORE GROUP. Only email and IP addresses were shared outside. Hence our apologies. But every time we did what was demanded of us, either Monna, or Nemesis would change the demand. It was clear nothing we did was going to be good enough. Meantime Monna said she was taking legal advice, so were we. Of course the advice we received was very different to the advice she claimed to receive. Two US attorneys/lawyers whatever you want to call them advised us that she had committed theft by downloading items she knew should be paid for, but hadn't been. We had no intention of taking action though, she claims she was prepared to pay but no agreement was ever made between us regarding that and in light of the errors we made, we thought it best for everyone concerned just to apologise and retract and let her have the goods.
It has since become obvious though, that this is not good enough for Monna or her buddy Nemesis, judging my the unpleasant and somewhat threatening mails we and the majority of our designers have received, especially from Nemesis.
This is the same Nemesis who attacked and shared all of the products made by Tantrum Scraps a few months ago of course. So its not rocket science for me to work out what she's going to do to at least myself and the co-owner. The same Nemesis who sells her own products, and those of others, in her own store Digital Dreams Scraps. Hypocritical??? I think so.
Nemesis, something to think on. Is it entirely impossible, that a person who is prepared to forward you mails of whats going on in our store, may also be prepared to forward other mails, in the other direction, that may have got back to us?
I know you want the design world to hate me, and maybe some of them will, I can accept that. But my past is not a secret. People move on, when they are allowed to!
But you don't want to allow that do you, you want me to suffer, 'to pay' because I turned my back on your 'education'. I thought about resigning as a store owner, as you were clearly going to 'punish' me, but no, you didnt want that, accused me of running away like a scared innocent child who wasnt innocent. It was never about running, it was about protecting others from being caught in the cross fire. But of course if I resigned, you couldn't hurt me could you. Couldnt exact your revenge upon me. Well ya know what, I'd rather other people didn't get hurt cos of this and I dont care if you accuse me of running away, the people who know me know the truth. ALL of it. So it doesnt matter what emails you post or forward, doctored or not. And just to make it easier on you trying to gather all my products so you and your gang of followers can share them, I'll give em away free, how about that?
Enigmaz Dezinz is retiring. As a gift, she is giving all her products away free. She's retiring because she knows you will hound her forever more if she doesn't. She doesn't want that, for herself, or anyone else who you may drag into it. She doesnt want innocent people caught in the mess that you will consider your revenge that you will issue with the help of your baying pack of wolves. And dont even bother claiming it as a victory, although I know you will anyway. Not a victory when the other side isn't fighting is it.
To the honest decent customers who have purchased from me, firstly I thank you. Secondly I apologise from the bottom of my heart. I know you spent money on my products and you will receive a gift from me as some attempt at a kind of recompense. I know I wont be able to reach all of you who have purchased from other stores, but I'll try. I have enough to do in my life and especially right now with my health problems without trying to battle against a psycho hosebeast who won't care who she hurts in the process as long as she has her cult whipped into a frenzy of glory worship.
